Throughout the course of my campaign, I have often discussed my career as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and how I will apply my nearly three decades of experience to optimize the Secretary of State’s Office.
One of my topmost priorities as your next Secretary of State will be to create an internal audit team to ensure that policies and procedures are being properly followed. Through this initiative, I will eliminate inefficiencies and ensure increased protection from fraud and abuse.
The State Department must run on all cylinders to provide top-quality customer service to serve customers at an individual level. As a CPA, I have utilized internal audits to mitigate organizational risks, improve governance processes and ensure objectives are met. As Michigan’s next Secretary of State, my audit team and I WILL ensure this happens.
I have been a CPA for over 30 years and I am proud to hold this certification**. I have been entrusted to enable organizations and shape their future. Combining insight with a strict code of conduct, my CPA certification allows me to deliver value beyond the standard efforts.
Being a CPA is more than just crunching numbers. CPA’s embrace the highest standards of professional and ethical conduct. As a Certified Public Accountant, I have been entrusted by state leaders to deliver budget-focused direction to municipalities, a state parks & recreation committee and various Michigan’s educational institutions. Additionally, I have had the opportunity to give back to our brave military service members and veterans by offering free tax preparations through the Accounting Aid Society.
When people see CPA next to my name, they know that I can be trusted to use their tax dollars wisely and perform my duties with integrity.
It is up to the next Secretary of State to instill the confidence in Michigan residents that our elections will be kept secure, personal information will be kept private, and the best customer service will be provided. I have the experience to provide these solutions and I would appreciate your support!
