Since 1994, Michigan Republican Secretaries of State have been leaders in innovation and technology to improve customer service, protect our private information and keep our vote secure. From being the first state agency to interact with the public using the internet, to introducing self-service kiosks and making appointments online at the busiest branch offices, Candice Miller, Terri Lynn Land and Ruth Johnson have made doing business with the Secretary of State’s Office easier and faster.
Their forward-thinking leadership has laid a path of how to lead the Secretary of
State’s Office the right way and I will continue their stellar records.
Following in their footsteps, I will modernize offices and online services with the latest
If you really want to avoid the line, the Secretary of State’s Office offers a variety of options to renew your tabs and license before your next birthday.
As your next Secretary of State, I will continue to upgrade online services and expand MI-Time Line allowing Michigan’s citizens to have more time to spend with their friends and families. Additionally, I will introduce an ExpressSOS online services app for your smartphone and a branch office redesign to make your visits more efficient.
My opponents will tell you that gimmicks, like multi-year car registration or expanding
the number of years between driver’s license renewals will reduce wait times. They will
also promise No-Wait or 30-Minute-Wait guarantees. None of these tricks will work. In
fact, stunts like these will only cause confusion, frustration and higher costs.
Our next Secretary of State needs to keep driving the office forward and not look back
on rehashed stunts from the 1980s. We need a leader who has the experience to lead
today’s modern Secretary of State’s Office to a new era of customer service and I have
proven track record doing just that.
