TERRI LYNN LAND ENDORSES MARY TREDER LANG FOR SECRETARY OF STATE
LAND IS THE SECOND FORMER SECRETARY OF STATE TO GET BEHIND THE CAMPAIGN
GRAND RAPIDS, MI – Former Secretary of State Terri Lynn Land today formally endorsed Mary Treder Lang for Secretary of State.
“Mary is the right candidate to lead the Department of State,” Land said. “Mary brings with her a wealth of experience in the private sector, and a can-do spirit to take on the vital task of ensuring our state’s elections are secured. As Michigan’s secretary of state from 2003-2010, I know very well the complex challenges facing the Department of State. Mary is a leader who will challenge the status quo as needed but will also strive each day to ensure that services are provided in an efficient, effective manner in every branch office.”
“I am honored to have Terri Lynn Land’s support,” Treder Lang said. “As a former Secretary of State, Terri knows what it takes to be effective in this role and her endorsement shows that she has faith in my ability to drive Michigan forward. I’ve said from the beginning of my campaign that I will continue the forward momentum of the sterling legacies by our Republican Secretaries of State. I am excited to have Terri on our team.”
Terri Lynn Land is the second former Secretary of State to endorse Mary Treder Lang. Former Secretary Candice Miller, who served from 1995 to 2003, announced her support in January.
Terri Lynn Land served as Michigan’s 41st secretary of state, from 2003 to 2010. During her tenure, she focused on streamlining services to improve efficiencies in the branch offices, worked to consolidate elections and implemented a single, secure statewide voting system.
